From March 17 to 22, 2025, in order to deepen the exchanges and cooperation between the Asia Simulation Federation (ASIASIM) and the Japan Society of Simulation (JSST), the Korea Society of Simulation (KSS) and relevant universities, Professor Weng Jingnong, Secretary-General of ASIASIM, and Professor Xiao Song, Vice Secretary-General, visited the core unit of JSST, Ritsumeikan University in Japan and the core unit of KSS, Sungkyunkwan University in South Korea.
During their stay in Osaka, Japan, Secretary-General Weng Jingnong and his delegation held discussions with Professor Satoshi Tanaka , Vice President of ASIASIM, former President of JSST and current Director of the International Exchange Department, Professor Liang Li, Vice Director, and Professor Wu Yan, Director of the Office of the School of Information at Ritsumeikan University, Japan. The two sides discussed a series of initiatives of ASIASIM to enhance its influence in Asia, especially Japan, and to develop new members, and the preparations for the first World Simulation Conference and the Asia Simulation Federation Summer Camp in September 2025. The discussion will contribute to the holding of the Global Simulation Conference.
In South Korea , the Secretariat held discussions at Sungkyunkwan University with Professor Kim Yun Bae, former KSS President and current ASIASIM Director, Professor Byeong-Yun Chang, Ajou University Professor and current ASIASIM Vice President, and Professor Jongsik Lee, the new KSS President and Inha University, to exchange views on enhancing the international influence of ASIASIM and developing new Korean members, and the preparations for the first World Simulation Conference and the ASIASIM summer camp.
International exchanges and mutual visits are an important part of the membership construction of ASIASIM, which has positive significance for cross-cultural understanding and cooperation. It strengthens the construction of global network cooperation mechanisms in the same field, enhances the influence and credibility of international organizations, promotes diversified solutions, and better participates in global science and technology governance. This visit,led by the Secretary-General, further enhanced the understanding of the work of the ASIASIM Secretariat by the directors and members of the alliance in Japan and South Korea, laying a good foundation for future work.
