From 10 to 12 February 2025, President Zhang Lin, Secretary General Weng Jingnong, and Professor Lai Liyuanjun  of the Asia Simulation Federation (ASIASIM) visited the Federation of European Simulation Societies (EUROSIM) and Universitàdi Genova, Italy.

During the visit, we had in-depth exchanges with the simulation team of Universitàdi Genova, representatives of the President of EUROSIM, Marco Gotelli, Antonio Giovannetti, Marina Massei. The discussions focused on several key areas of cooperation, including:

1. Organizing the Global Simulation 2025 international conference.

2. EUROSIM assistance in inviting European guests and enterprises.

3. Establishing an office for EUROSIM and the Genoa simulation team on the Hangzhou Campus.

4. Facilitating student exchanges between Beihang University and the University of Genoa.

5. Establishing the International Joint Laboratory.

6. Creating reciprocal internship opportunities.

7. Promoting collaboration with enterprises.

These initiatives aim to strengthen partnerships and enhance cooperation in the field of simulation.The University of Genova’s Strategos Master’s programme offers scholarships to students from Beihang, and students are selected to participate in the 2025 Beihang Summer School in Hangzhou.

The delegation met with Prof. Delfino, President of Universitàdi Genova, and completed the signing of the inter-university agreement between Beihang and Universitàdi Genova. In addition, the two sides signed an agreement on the exchange and exchange of students between the two universities and an agreement on the establishment of a joint laboratory between the Beihang International Innovation Center for Simulation Technology and the simulation team of Universitàdi Genova. Professor Agostino Bruzzone, the head of the simulation team of Universitàdi Genova, serves as the chairman of the Simulation Consortium and has profound attainments in data analysis, modeling and simulation (M&S) and artificial intelligence (Artificial Intelligence, AI), etc., and has made great achievements in the application of AI and modelling and simulation technologies to enhance system safety, to improve the quality of the system, and to improve the quality and safety of the system in the light of the needs of the students. Beihang Professor Lin Zhang's research team and Professor Agostino Bruzzone have a foundation of more than ten years of cooperation in scientific research, personnel training, thesis publication, academic conferences, etc., and have achieved very good results of cooperation and established a deep friendship. During the establishment of the Asia Simulation Federation, Professor Agostino Bruzzone sent a special congratulatory video.

During the visit, the delegation visited three well-known simulation companies in Genova, NOVEO, HORSA and STARA GLASS.

Universitàdi Genova is a prestigious Italian state university, one of the best in Europe, founded in 1471 and located in the Liguria region of Italy.
