On March 4, Weng Jingnong, Secretary-General of the Asia Simulation Federation (ASIASIM), Yang Xiaohui, Vice Secretary General, and Liu Yanqing, Head of Federation Standardization, visited the International Federation for Intelligent Manufacturing (ICIM). The two federation exchanged views on the sound development of international organizations, member services, the compliance construction of the secretariat, and future cooperation. Zhang Xijun, Secretary General of the Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society (CMES), Liang Ying, Secretary-General of the ICIM, and heads of relevant departments of the federation attended the meeting.

During the meeting, Secretary-General Xijun Zhang and Secretary-General Ying Liang introduced the basic situation of the CMES and the ICIM. The ICIM was established in December 2023. It is a non-official, non-profit international cooperation organization jointly initiated by the Intelligent Manufacturing Alliance of CAST Member Societies (the secretariat is located in the CMES) and 60 scientific and technological societies, research institutes, universities, and enterprises in 14 countries, including the United States, Germany, and Japan. The alliance regularly holds medium and large-scale international academic exchange conferences, creates brand projects in related fields, conducts research on policies, regulations, and related standards, writes industry development reports, promotes the transformation and application of scientific and technological achievements in intelligent manufacturing, and improves work in the fields of talent training. It aims to promote international exchanges in the field of intelligent manufacturing with an open spirit and a sharing and win-win concept.

Secretary-General Jingnong Weng expressed his gratitude for the warm reception and exchanges of the ICIM. He briefly introduced the construction of the ASIASIM, and focused on in-depth exchanges on topics such as the solid promotion of the entity construction of the secretariat and how international organizations can achieve sustainable development. Vice Secretary-General Yang Xiaohui and Head of Federation Standardization Liu Yanqing respectively expressed their opinions and exchanged experiences in international standard setting and member construction. Secretary-General hopes to deepen mutual understanding among international organizations through exchanges, mutual visits and mutual learning, and gradually promote a benign development situation of coordination and cohesion among all parties in related fields. He mentioned that the high-quality development of international organizations is inseparable from policy guidance and the guidance of competent authorities, and win-win cooperation among international organizations. The ASIASIM should be good at summarizing excellent experiences, exploring high-quality development paths, and actively discussing the development of international organizations, so as to gather strength for the scientific and technological progress and development of industries and countries and play its due role.
