On July 8, Ms. Sun Yongrong, Chair of the Hangzhou Association for Science and Technology (HAST), and Mr. Ruan Xiang, Deputy Director of the Foreign Affairs Office of the Hangzhou Municipal Government, visited the Asia Simulation Federation (ASIASIM) to gain a deeper understanding of the federation’s development and ongoing preparations for the Global Simulation Conference 2025.

They were received by ASIASIM President Mr. Zhang Lin and Secretary-General Mr. Weng Jingnong. Also attending the meeting were Mr. Du Pengcheng and Mr. Zhang Wei, Vice Presidents of the Hangzhou International Innovation Institute of Beihang University.

Secretary-General Weng provided an overview of the 2025 World Simulation Conference, which will center on the theme "Intelligent Simulation and Data Governance". The conference will feature key fields for investment and advanced technology such as simulation industry chain, digitalization, AI and industrial software. Distinguished guests such as Nobel Laureates and Turing Award recipients will be invited, and the event will include paper submissions, cutting-edge exhibitions, and over ten thematic sub-forums, with an expected attendance of over 1,000 participants.

Weng expressed ASIASIM’s intention to establish Hangzhou as the permanent host city for the Conference and called for strong support and guidance from HAST and the Foreign Affairs Office to make the event a new platform for international scientific and technological cooperation in Hangzhou.

Leaders from HAST and Foreign Affairs Office acknowledged ASIASIM’s achievements and expressed high expectations for the application of simulation technologies in future industries. They hoped that the GloSim 2025 would empower the process of Hangzhou’s international and global development for scientific and technological cooperation, and pledged support for the GloSim 2025 within the scope of policy guidelines. They also offered to assist in multi-level coordination and government engagement to ensure the event’s success. They encouraged ASIASIM to play a greater role as an international scientific organization and contribute to building Hangzhou into a hub for global organizations, which could pool resources and boost the economy.
