The Malaysian Simulation Society (MSS), founded in 2017, is dedicated to advancing the study and applicationsof modelling and simulation within Malaysia. MSS serves as an educational platform that supports lifelong learningand research, offering opportunities for students, academics, and industry professionals to engage in simulation-relat.ed training and research. The organization is affiliated with the Federation of Asian Simulation Societies (ASlASIM), anetwork that includes societies from other Asian countries such as China, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore. Together, they promote the growth of simulation technology across Asia, particularly in the fields of engineering, computerscience, and applied sciences.
Since 2017, the Malaysian Simulation Society (MSS) has been actively involved in organizing conferences, suchas the Asia Simulation Conference in 2017 (Melaka, Malaysia) and 2023 (Langkawi, Malaysia), and the InternationalSymposium on Systems Modeling and Simulation (SMS) in 2024. These events bring together researchers to discussand share advances in simulation technology and its applications. Through these conferences, MSS strives to keep itsmembers and participants informed on the latest simulation techniques and tools, while also promoting professionaldevelopment in the field.
Starting in 2020, MSS expanded its activities by organizing training sessions on various simulation tools, includingSolidWorks CAD, Robot Operating System (ROS), and LaTeX. These are valuable tools for undergraduate andpostgraduate students in developing advanced mechatronic and robotic systems. Beyond training, MSS also collabo.rates on organizing robotics competitions and educational programs, such as capstone showcases, industry talks, andproject-based learning initiatives. These activities aim to foster hands-on skils in engineering through practical,competition-based learning experiences across various engineering courses.
In future, MSS will continue to organize several activities to enhance knowledge and research in modelling andsimulation to students, academicians, and practitioners.
