Foshan-Zhongke lnnovation Research lnstitute of Intelligent Agriculture and Robotics (hereinafter referred to as"the lnstitute”) was established as a private, non-profit research institute in December 2020 with the joint approval ofthe Foshan Municipal Science and Technology Bureau and the Civil Affairs Bureau of Foshan city.

The Institute is co-founded by South China Agricultural University, Foshan Sino-tech industrial TechnologyResearch Institute, Zhongkai University of Agriculture and Engineering, Guangdong Ruobo Intelligent Co., Ltd, Guangdong Shunde CAS Innovation Design Service Co., Ltd., and Guangdong Vision Technology Co., Ltd.

The lnstitute focuses on research and development in digital agriculture, virtual and intelligent agriculture.agricultural artificial inteligence, agricultural informatization, agricultural e-commerce platforms, agricultural loTagricultural robotics, machine vision for agricultural solutions, agricultural product processing equipment, aquacultureprocessing equipment, farmland water conservancy equipment, agricultural waste resource reuse, and safety monitoring and restoration of reservoirs and dams.

The lnstitute currently has 37 research staff members, including 1 foreign academician, 4 members with senioltitles, and 1 with intermediate title. Additionally, there are 10 part-time professors, 10 associate professors, 2 Ph.Dcandidates, and over 10 postgraduate students. Overall, the Institute plans to recruit 100-200 staff members. Acade.mician LU0 Xiwen from South China Agricultural University is designated as the Chairman of the Academic Commit.tee. With the aim of establishing itself as a world-class research institute in its field, it has built a system of innovativeresearch and postgraduate education that integrates machinery, automation, and artificial intelligence with agriculture at its core.
