Theme: AI-Driven Global Simulation Innovation and Collaborative Governance

Main Forum · 10 Thematic Sessions · International Simulation Technology Exhibition · Business Matchmaking

As the Global Simulation Conference 2026 approaches, more speakers for the main forum and thematic sessions are being announced. Today, we are pleased to introduce a featured speaker from the “Physical AI, Intelligent Simulation and Data Governance” Forum: Professor ZHU Xiaobo of the University of Science and Technology of China, Chief Scientist of the Zuchongzhi Quantum Computing Project and a recipient of the 2021 New Cornerstone Science Foundation Award. Professor ZHU has long focused on the development of practical quantum computers. At the conference, he will speak on “Simulation for Superconducting Quantum Computing”, sharing how simulation can help quantum computing researchers move more quickly from design to experiments, and from experiments toward practical applications.

Professor ZHU Xiaobo

Professor at the University of Science and Technology of China and Chief Scientist behind the Zuchongzhi Quantum Computer

Professor ZHU Xiaobo, Professor at the University of Science and Technology of China, Chief Architect of the "Zuchongzhi" quantum computing project, and a recipient of the 2021 Xplorer Prize. He has long been committed to the development of practical quantum computers. Through systematic exploration, he has achieved a series of innovative results in quantum error correction, quantum random walks, many-body entanglement, and quantum simulation. The "Zuchongzhi" superconducting quantum computing prototype he was responsible for developing achieved quantum computational advantage on the random circuit sampling problem, accomplishing the first-stage goal of quantum computing.

Superconducting quantum computing is one of the most closely watched technology routes in the field of quantum computing today, but its development process relies heavily on repeated experimental debugging, which is costly and time-consuming. Simulation technology provides an efficient path for this: by modelling superconducting qubits and their electromagnetic environment on a computer, it is possible to predict system behaviour, optimize design schemes, and verify control schemes before experiments. This report will introduce several typical applications of simulation in superconducting quantum computing, including quantum chip parameter design, quantum gate manipulation optimization, quantum circuit verification, and noise and error analysis, and demonstrate how simulation helps researchers move faster from design to experiment and from experiment to practical use. Finally, the report will discuss the challenges facing simulation methods and future development directions.

The Global Simulation Conference 2026 brings together leading experts from around the world to explore cutting-edge topics, including Physical AI, intelligent simulation and data governance, embodied intelligence, and industrial foundation models. The conference will feature a main forum and 10 thematic forums covering key areas such as aerospace, smart healthcare, low-altitude transportation, green and intelligent marine equipment, and youth innovation and development.

Professor ZHU Xiaobo will share first-hand experience of how simulation is being applied in superconducting quantum computing. We look forward to exploring the latest developments and applications of simulation technology, from cutting-edge research to real-world industry applications.
