News | When Art Design Meets Simulation Technology: A Delegation from Nanjing University of the Arts Visits ASIASIM

On the morning of March 12, Xi Xie, Dean of the School of International Education of Nanjing University of the Arts, and Zhao Weiyi, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, led a delegation to visit Asia Simulation Federation (ASIASIM). They engaged in in-depth discussions with Weng Jingnong, Secretary-General of ASIASIM, Gong Weixi, Standing Member of the Advisory Committee and former Director of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and members of the Secretariat. The discussions focused on topics such as the integration of art and science, as well as talent cultivation.
During the discussion, the two sides reached multiple consensus on the cross-disciplinary integration of art and simulation technology. Relying on the concept that “Simulation for Everything”, ASIASIM plans to build a diversified practice and exchange platform for international students from Nanjing University of the Arts, promoting the integrated development of art and digital technology. Through international cooperation mechanisms, it aims to provide students with opportunities to engage with cutting-edge technologies and participate in practical projects, thereby enhancing their interdisciplinary innovation capabilities. In addition, the two sides also explored the possibility of organizing thematic exchange activities under the “Perceiving China” initiative, hoping to further broaden the international perspectives of overseas students through a combination of diverse visits and academic exchanges.
The participants noted that, with the rapid development of digital technologies, artificial intelligence, and other emerging technologies, simulation technology is continuously expanding its application scope in areas such as the digitalization of art design, the preservation of cultural heritage through simulation, and the experience of intelligent art equipment. By promoting the deep integration of art and simulation technology, it is not only possible to provide more diverse forms of expression for artistic creation but also to foster cultural innovation and the development of the digital cultural industry. This integration also offers new pathways for cultivating interdisciplinary talents who possess both artistic literacy and technological competence.

During the exchange period, the delegation from Nanjing University of the Arts also visited ASIASIM to gain further insight into its founding background, member structure, development vision, and key areas of focus. This visit deepened their understanding of the Federation's philosophy of leveraging simulation technology to drive scientific, technological, and industrial innovation, as well as its efforts to promote international research collaboration and international collaborative projects through global platforms. Subsequently, the delegation toured the Beihang Hangzhou International Campus, where they observed the campus facilities and teaching environment firsthand. They were deeply impressed by the smart campus infrastructure, advanced teaching equipment, and the strong international atmosphere of the campus.

In the future, the two sides will also explore collaborations such as jointly creating art simulation works and jointly cultivating interdisciplinary talents, aiming to promote the mutual empowerment of artistic literacy and technological capability, and to infuse new vitality into artistic innovation through simulation technology.
