The two sides engaged in in-depth discussions on key matters including the establishment of international organizations locally, talent development, and industrial growth.
In-Depth Coordination on Sub-Forum Preparations
On the morning of May 13, Professor Jingnong Weng, Secretary-General of the Asia Simulation Federation and professor at Beihang University, and Professor Zhigeng Pan, Director of the Metaverse and Embodied Intelligence Lab at the Beihang International Innovation Institute, led a delegation to the Chongqing Association for Science and Technology for a dedicated exchange on matters related to the World Science and Technology Development Forum sub-forum, to be held in Chongqing on October 26, 2026. Senior leaders in attendance included Jian Ding, Member of the CQAST Party Group and Vice Chairman; Chenglong Liu, Member of the CQAST Party Group and Vice Chairman; Yong Duan, Director of the Department of Science and Technology Innovation; and Xinyan Zhang, Director of the Department of International Cooperation, among others. Representatives from municipal-level academic societies, including Chongqing University of Technology, the Chongqing Computer Federation, and the Chongqing Association for Artificial Intelligence, also attended.
The discussion was chaired by Vice Chairman Chenglong Liu. During the meeting, the Asia Simulation Federation and the Beihang International Innovation Institute each presented updates on organizational development, international cooperation, research platforms, and talent development. The two sides engaged in detailed, item-by-item discussions on key matters including the sub-forum's agenda, the invitation of high-profile guests, participation by leading Chongqing enterprises, and concurrent exhibitions, and reached clarity on the path forward and key timelines.

Establishing International Organizations Locally and Talent Development as Future Priorities
On the topics of establishing international organizations locally and talent development, the two sides held in-depth discussions on matters such as the Asia Simulation Federation setting up a talent pipeline base for international organization interns in Chongqing and establishing a liaison office there. Both parties reached consensus on leveraging university resources and CQAST's role as a bridge to support the Federation's development in Chongqing, and on jointly serving Chongqing's industrial transformation and upgrading as well as regional innovation development.

On-Site Inspection to Ensure the Forum's Smooth Execution
That afternoon, the Federation delegation also conducted an on-site inspection of the proposed venue for the conference, confirming in detail key matters such as venue conditions, exhibition area layout, and supporting logistics — laying a solid foundation for the successful hosting of the Chongqing sub-forum of the World Science and Technology Development Forum.
