On the morning of July 14, Lin Cui, Secretary of the Party General Branch of Beihang University Qingdao Research Institute and First-Level Researcher of the Qingdao Municipal Science and Technology Bureau, along with Deming Zhang, Director of the Institute, visited the Beijing Office of the Asian Simulation Federation for a specialized roundtable discussion, resource exchange, and cooperation talks. Xiaohui Yang, Vice Secretary-General of the Asian Simulation Federation, and Yang Wang, Head of External Cooperation at the Beijing Office, welcomed the delegation and attended the meeting.

At the start of the meeting, both parties conducted in-depth discussions on key areas, such as the industry academia research integration and application of simulation technologies, high-level innovation talent development, joint construction of university enterprise collaboration platforms, industrial implementation of competitions, and the commercialization of scientific research achievements.
Lin Cui first introduced the platform positioning, research strengths, faculty resources, and the policy framework and industrial ecosystem advantages of Qingdao in areas including advanced manufacturing, digital simulation, intelligent manufacturing, and the aerospace industry. Relying on the leading disciplinary resources of Beihang University, the Qingdao Research Institute has long focused on cutting-edge fields such as industrial simulation, structural mechanics, aerospace engineering, and advanced manufacturing. It has established mature research teams, laboratory platforms, and talent development systems, continuously providing technological support and talent development for high-end equipment industries in Qingdao and the Shandong region. President Zhang Deming further highlighted the institute’s cooperation models in areas such as joint university enterprise training, technological research and development, collaborative project development, and student internships and practical training.
Vice Secretary-General Xiaohui Yang provided a detailed introduction to the Federation’s platform functions, nationwide industrial initiatives, and annual flagship event system. He highlighted the Federation’s core programs, including the World Simulation Conference, International Simulation Innovation Competition, and Simulation Lecture Series. He also shared the Federation’s resource advantages in connecting leading enterprises, research institutes, industrial parks, venture capital institutions, and university networks both domestically and internationally, as well as its achievements in promoting domestic simulation software adoption, developing simulation talent systems, establishing industry standards, and incubating science and technology innovation projects.
The discussion further strengthened the foundation for cooperation between the Asian Simulation Federation, Beihang University Qingdao Research Institute, and Qingdao’s science and technology innovation ecosystem. Moving forward, both sides will use this meeting as a starting point to continuously deepen comprehensive, multi-level, and long-term collaboration. Together, they will promote the domestic application of simulation technologies, deeper industry–academia–research integration, joint development of high-level talent, and the implementation of science and technology innovation projects, contributing to high-quality innovation and development in the simulation and advanced manufacturing industries.
