To deepen the integration of art and technology, broaden the scope of inter-university cooperation, and build a new platform for academic exchange and talent cultivation, a delegation from Nanjing University of the Arts (NUA) recently visited the Asia Simulation Federation for an inspection visit and discussion. The delegation was led by Jie Zhang, Standing Committee Member of the Party Committee and Vice President, and included Zhenlin Ni, Director of the Office of Development Planning and Social Cooperation; Xie Xi, Dean of the School of International Education; Rong Rong, Deputy Director of the Research Affairs Office; and Chunxiao Huo, Deputy Dean of the School of Industrial Design and Intelligent Innovation. Together, the two sides discussed new opportunities for the integration of art and technology and explored new pathways for collaborative development.

Professor Jingnong Weng, Secretary-General of the Asia Simulation Federation, along with relevant Secretariat staff, warmly received the visiting delegation. Both sides held in-depth discussions on core topics including joint discipline development, talent cultivation, academic innovation, and international exchange, in a lively atmosphere that yielded fruitful consensus.

Discussions on Jointly Establishing an International Intern Sourcing Base

At the discussion meeting, both sides drew on their respective resource strengths and focused on the cross-disciplinary integration of art and simulation technology, finalizing a number of practical cooperation measures:

Unveiling of the International Organization Internship Sourcing Base

The two sides formally reached a strategic partnership, with an on-site unveiling ceremony establishing the Asia Simulation Federation International Organization Internship Sourcing Base at Nanjing University of the Arts. This is the fourth such talent source base ASIASIM has established at universities nationwide, and the first in Jiangsu Province, marking an important milestone. The base is designed to draw fully on NUA's deep foundation in the arts disciplines and ASIASIM's international platform resources, creating a high-quality pathway for young students to pursue international internships, academic development, and cross-disciplinary growth.

At the same time, both sides exchanged views in depth on matters including reciprocal academic visits, joint development of an expert think tank, coordination of research projects, and the establishment of a long-term mechanism for art-technology integration, laying a solid foundation for future multi-dimensional cooperation.

Touring the Federation's Laboratories and the Beihang International Campus

Following the discussion, accompanied by Secretary-General Jingnong Weng and Secretariat staff, the NUA delegation toured ASIASIM's specialized laboratories, examining up close the research and development platforms and facilities for cutting-edge technologies such as virtual simulation, artificial intelligence, digital cultural heritage, and intelligent interaction. The delegation gained an in-depth understanding of the applications of simulation technology in areas such as cultural heritage preservation, empowering artistic creation, and digital cultural and creative product development.

The delegation then proceeded to the Beihang International Campus for a site visit, experiencing firsthand the campus's internationalized layout, disciplinary structure, internationalized education model, and the achievements of its Sino-foreign cooperative education programs, drawing on Beihang's advanced experience in art-technology integration, international cooperation, campus planning, and platform development.

02 — Ink and Calligraphy: A Testament to Deep Friendship

During the exchange, Nanjing University of the Arts presented the Asia Simulation Federation with a calligraphy work, created especially for the occasion by Professor Youzhou Zhu, a renowned calligrapher at NUA. This piece of ink artistry embodies the friendship between the two institutions, symbolizing a shared journey toward long-term cooperation built on art as a bridge and technology as a foundation.

03 — On-Site Visit: Exploring New Horizons in Technology Integration

In the afternoon, accompanied by Secretary-General Jingnong Weng and Secretariat staff, the NUA delegation visited Unitree Robotics for an on-site inspection. The delegation gained a close-up understanding of the R&D and application scenarios of cutting-edge technologies such as intelligent robotics, spatial simulation, and intelligent interaction, and explored in depth the potential applications of simulation technology in fields such as artistic creation, cultural tourism and creative products, and digital scene construction — accumulating valuable practical experience for the future implementation of art-technology integration projects, joint discipline development, and research collaboration.

This visit and exchange represents not only an in-depth dialogue between an arts institution and a technology platform, but also a vivid practice of art-technology integration and cross-disciplinary synergy. Going forward, taking this collaboration as a starting point, the Asia Simulation Federation and Nanjing University of the Arts will continue to deepen cooperation across multiple areas, including talent cultivation, academic discussion, achievement transformation, and international exchange, exploring new innovative development models in which art empowers technology and technology illuminates art — working together to contribute to the building of a nation strong in culture and in science and technology.
