On the afternoon of August 18, the Asia Simulation Federation (ASIASIM) and the Indonesia-China Economic Cooperation Center (ICECC) held a meeting at Donghu International Center in Beijing. The two sides exchanged views on developments and future trends in industrial simulation software and reached a preliminary agreement on strategic cooperation in promoting Chinese industrial simulation software across Asia, establishing industrial simulation software training centers, and supporting the implementation of innovative projects. The meeting was attended by Xiaohui Yang, Vice Secretary-General of ASIASIM; Yu Wang, Head of General Administration at the ASIASIM Beijing Office; Ling Hu, Founder and Executive Vice Chair of ICECC; Hao Li, Vice Secretary-General of the ICECC China Representative Office (preparatory); and Yuchen Jiang, Secretariat Officer of ICECC.

Shaping the Future of Simulation Technology Together

Simulation technology, regarded as the “third approach” for understanding and transforming the world after theoretical deduction and scientific experimentation, is reshaping the boundaries between the digital and physical worlds. The Asia Simulation Federation (ASIASIM) is an international, non-profit scientific organization dedicated to global cooperation in simulation technology. It was jointly founded by the Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Singaporean, and Malaysian simulation societies. ASIASIM is one of the world’s three major international scientific organizations in the field of modeling and simulation, alongside the Society for Modeling and Simulation International (SCS) and the Federation of European Simulation Societies (EUROSIM).

At the meeting, Xiaohui Yang, Vice Secretary-General of the Asia Simulation Federation (ASIASIM), introduced the Federation’s latest progress in promoting international cooperation in simulation technology, developing simulation innovation platforms, establishing international standards, and publishing academic journals. In recent years, ASIASIM has continued to build high-quality international platforms for academic exchange through flagship events such as the Global Simulation Conference and the Asia Simulation Conference.

Ling Hu, Founder and Executive Vice Chair of the Indonesia-China Economic Cooperation Center (ICECC), highlighted the Center’s role as a bridge for promoting economic and trade cooperation between China and Indonesia. The Center has long been committed to providing companies investing in Indonesia with comprehensive services covering policy coordination, legal and regulatory compliance, and localized operations. Ling Hu noted that, as the largest economy in ASEAN, Indonesia has a young consumer market of 270 million people, offering significant opportunities for Chinese simulation software to expand into overseas markets.

Three Key Areas of Cooperation to Be Advanced

Following in-depth discussions, the two sides reached the following framework for comprehensive strategic cooperation:

First, promoting the expansion of Chinese-developed simulation software across Asia.

Second, jointly establishing an industrial simulation software application and training center. The two sides plan to establish an industrial simulation software application and training center under China-Indonesia cooperation, providing training in simulation technology and supporting the development of related industries to help drive the digital transformation of Indonesia’s manufacturing sector.

Third, advancing the implementation of innovative projects. Focusing on major projects related to the development of Indonesia’s new capital, smart cities, and green infrastructure, the two sides will promote the application of simulation technology in areas such as water environment management, smart manufacturing, and digital cultural tourism, helping integrate technology more closely with industry.

Taking this meeting as an opportunity to deepen cooperation, the two sides will establish a regular communication mechanism and designate dedicated personnel to coordinate and implement the agreed initiatives. Together, they will bring new momentum to the development of the simulation technology industry and economic and trade cooperation across Asia.
