Yin Li Calls for High-Quality Growth of International Science and Technology Organizations to Support China’s Drive for Greater Scientific and Technological Self-Reliance

As One of the International Science and Technology Organizations Visited, the Asia Simulation Federation Leverages Its Platform to Serve the Global Simulation Technology Community

Recently, Yin Li, Secretary of the Beijing Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China, conducted a special survey in Chaoyang District on promoting the clustered development of international science and technology organizations. According to the Beijing Daily, Yin visited organizations including the Asia Simulation Federation, the International Society for Digital Earth, and the Beijing Representative Office of the World Green Design Organization (Belgium) to learn about their operations. He called for further strengthening the “dual-steward” service model, improving support for talent services and project coordination, and fostering an open and inclusive international science and technology innovation ecosystem. The report also noted that Beijing is now home to 58 international science and technology organizations, the highest number among cities in China.

Yin Li emphasized leveraging the resources of international science and technology organizations to build bridges for communication and collaboration and strengthen the integration of global scientific and technological resources. He called for more multinational joint laboratories, international technology transfer centers, and innovation platforms; deeper industry–academia–research cooperation; and stronger support for internationally influential science and technology journals. He also urged closer collaboration between international organizations, national research forces, and Beijing-based technology enterprises to advance key and core technology research, strengthen cross-border scientific cooperation, expand global access to major research infrastructure, and contribute to international mega-science programs and projects.

Yin Li called for greater participation in international science and technology governance to promote the responsible development of science and technology. He urged continued support for open exchange events such as the Zhongguancun Forum and the International Conference on Basic Sciences, as well as academic forums and industry summits organized by international science and technology organizations, to expand multi-level and cross-sector cooperation. He also called for participation in the development and mutual recognition of technical standards and ethical guidelines in emerging fields such as data governance and biological resources, while promoting Chinese perspectives and solutions, sharing the benefits of scientific and technological advances, and advancing the well-being of humanity.

As one of the organizations visited, the Asia Simulation Federation (ASIASIM) recognizes the responsibility it carries in advancing this mission.

One of the World’s Three Major Simulation Organizations: Asia’s Voice in Global Simulation Governance

The Asia Simulation Federation (ASIASIM), together with the Society for Modeling and Simulation International (SCS) and the Federation of European Simulation Societies (EUROSIM), forms the three major international science and technology organizations in the global simulation field, serving as an essential Asian pillar in the global governance of simulation technology.

The Federation was jointly initiated by simulation societies from China, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, and Malaysia, and was officially registered with China’s Ministry of Civil Affairs in December 2024 as an independent, international, non-profit science and technology organization with legal person status. With the vision of “Simulation for Everything, Simulation Lights the Future” and the mission of “Rooted in Asia, Reaching the World, and Building a Global Simulation Technology Community”, ASIASIM promotes the deep application of simulation technology in fields including aerospace, intelligent manufacturing, digital twins, artificial intelligence, scientific research, and social governance.


Global Network: Nearly 20 Countries, 70+ Member Organizations, and 2,000+ Experts

As of July 2026, ASIASIM has brought together more than 70 member organizations from nearly 20 countries and regions, including China, Germany, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, South Africa, the United Arab Emirates, and Pakistan, along with more than 2,000 industry experts and a broad network of domestic and international ecosystem partners.

In 2025, ASIASIM visited 18 countries and hosted 36 high-level delegations. It also established an overseas liaison office in Singapore, helping technology exchange transcend borders and industry collaboration bridge distances, putting its mission of “Rooted in Asia, Reaching the World” into practice.

Simulation technology is the “third approach” to understanding and transforming the world, following theoretical deduction and scientific experimentation, and an “intelligent key” for addressing complex engineering and societal challenges in the digital age. ASIASIM is committed to advancing simulation from a specialized tool into a cross-industry capability.

ASIASIM’s daily operations focus on six key areas: frontier research, technological innovation, application validation, standards development, talent development, and international exchange, supported by a range of flagship platforms and initiatives:

• Global Simulation Conference (GloSim): The Federation’s annual flagship event, bringing together leading simulation scholars and industry leaders from around the world. The 2026 World Simulation Conference will be held in Hangzhou in November under the theme “AI-Driven Global Simulation Innovation and Collaborative Governance.”

• Asia Simulation Conference (AsiaSim): A regional platform for academic and technical exchange that continues to foster interdisciplinary and cross-border collaboration.

• International Journal of Modeling, Simulation, and Scientific Computing (IJMSSC): Promoting the global dissemination of simulation research and advancing academic development in the field.

• International Summer School: Focused on science outreach and talent development in simulation technology, cultivating the next generation of young professionals.

• Digital Intelligence Simulation International Collaborative Innovation Action Plan: Using collaborative innovation to facilitate joint research and technological breakthroughs among member organizations.

• IInternational Innovation Center for Simulation Techonology: Supporting technology transfer and the commercialization of simulation technologies.

This means that joining ASIASIM is not simply about becoming part of an academic association; it means gaining access to a global collaborative network spanning multiple countries, connecting academia, industry, research, technology transfer, and standards development.


Open Collaboration: Inviting Global Partners to Build a Global Simulation Technology Community Together

Looking ahead, the Asia Simulation Federation will adopt an increasingly open approach, working alongside members and partners to amplify Asia’s voice in simulation technology on the global stage.

The Federation has established a strategic partnership with the Indonesia-China Economic Cooperation Center to advance practical initiatives, including the joint development of an industrial simulation software application and training base and the implementation of innovative projects. Meanwhile, through its member network, ASIASIM promotes the application of simulation technology in areas such as advanced manufacturing, smart cities, and green and low-carbon development, helping research成果 reach industry more efficiently while enabling industry needs to better inform fundamental research.

The Federation welcomes organizations from across industries that are interested in simulation technology and digital transformation. Universities and research institutions, technology and manufacturing companies, as well as organizations in energy, transportation, healthcare, finance, culture and tourism, education, and urban governance can all become ASIASIM members and participate in simulation technology innovation, industry application development, international standards, talent development, and global collaboration.

Looking Back at the 24th Asia Simulation Conference

As a major academic exchange event in modeling and simulation in Asia, the conference brought together experts, scholars, and industry representatives from multiple countries and regions to discuss the latest research findings, key technologies, and practical applications. As an important academic exchange platform of ASIASIM, the conference continues to strengthen connections among simulation technology organizations across Asia and promote interdisciplinary, inter-institutional, and cross-border research collaboration and talent exchange.

The 2026 World Science and Technology Development Forum will be held in Chongqing, China, from October 21 to 23 under the theme “Co-Evolution: Shaping New Ecosystems for Future Industries.” The event will feature a parallel forum on “AI-Driven Development of Future Simulation Technology.” Co-organized by the Asia Simulation Federation, Beihang University Hangzhou International Innovation Institute, and the Chongqing Association for Artificial Intelligence, the forum will focus on the deep integration of artificial intelligence with modeling and simulation technology, exploring frontier areas such as digital twins, industrial AI agents, and world models, while examining innovative applications of intelligent simulation in advanced manufacturing, industrial upgrading, and sustainable development.

From “Simulation for Everything” to “AI-Driven Global Collaboration”, simulation technology is redefining the boundaries of innovation. The Asia Simulation Federation promotes the deep application of simulation technology in aerospace, intelligent manufacturing, digital twins, artificial intelligence, scientific research, and social governance.
