News | Wuhan University of Science and Technology VisitED ASIASIM to Explore Research and Talent Development Collaboration

On September 7, 2026, a delegation from Wuhan University of Science and Technology (WUST) visited the Asia Simulation Federation (ASIASIM) to discuss potential collaboration in refractory materials simulation research, talent development, and international science and technology cooperation. The meeting was attended by MA Teng, Vice President of WUST; WANG Ruwu, Vice Director of the Office of Science and Technology Development; ZHU Tianbin, Head of the Department of Inorganic Nonmetallic Materials; and ZHANG Lin, President of ASIASIM; WENG Jingnong, Secretary-General of ASIASIM; and members of the Secretariat.

ASIASIM Secretary-General WENG Jingnong accompanied the WUST delegation on a tour of the Federation’s Secretariat, including selected scientific and technological achievements, classrooms for the International Summer School, and works from the Simulation Art and Design Competition displayed in the central hall. In addition to introducing the Federation’s research and educational exchange activities, the visit gave the delegation an overview of ASIASIM’s organizational development, business priorities, and international cooperation.

During the meeting, WENG Jingnong, Secretary-General of ASIASIM, introduced the Federation’s progress in international academic exchange, simulation standards development, and young talent development. Discussions focused on the establishment of internship training bases, the International Summer School, and the membership mechanism. Drawing on WUST’s academic strengths, Weng proposed strengthening cooperation in student internships, academic exchange, and the dissemination of research. ZHANG Lin, President of ASIASIM, also expressed hope that cooperation with WUST would help bring more universities and research institutions from China and abroad into the Federation’s network of exchange and collaboration.


 

MA Teng, Vice President of WUST, introduced the university’s disciplinary development, research platforms, and international cooperation, highlighting advances in simulation research in areas including refractory materials, iron and steel metallurgy, and thermal management of carbon materials. He expressed the university’s interest in leveraging its disciplinary strengths and international partnerships to strengthen cooperation with ASIASIM in student internships, joint research, standards development, and large-model training.

The two sides reached consensus on advancing WUST’s membership in ASIASIM and establishing an internship talent base for international organizations. They also discussed collaboration in refractory materials simulation, including standards development, preparation of specialized reports, and joint events. Both sides proposed strengthening communication through referrals to domestic and international partners, regular mutual visits, member activities, and internship exchanges to facilitate follow-up cooperation.


After the meeting, the WUST delegation visited the Beihang International Innovation Research Institute.


Wuhan University of Science and TechnologyWUST

Wuhan University of Science and Technology (WUST) is a high-level local university jointly supported by the Hubei Provincial Government and the Ministry of Education. Asia Simulation Federation, ASIASIM

The Asia Simulation Federation (ASIASIM) is an international, non-profit science and technology organization jointly initiated by simulation societies from China, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, and Malaysia. Officially registered with China’s Ministry of Civil Affairs in December 2024, the Federation has independent legal person status. Guided by the principle that “Simulation for Everything”, ASIASIM promotes simulation as a general-purpose capability in the AI era, connecting the physical and digital worlds and advancing deeper integration among industry, academia, and research. Its work serves a wide range of sectors, including aerospace, intelligent manufacturing, energy and transportation, healthcare, finance, education, and urban governance. As of July 2026, ASIASIM has more than 70 member organizations and 2,000 industry experts from nearly 20 countries, and has established key platforms and initiatives including the International Simulation Technology Sci-Tech Innovation Center, Digital Intelligence Simulation International Collaborative Innovation Action Plan, World Simulation Conference, Asia Simulation Conference, International Journal of Modeling, Simulation, and Scientific Computing, International Summer School, and International Simulation Innovation Competition. The Federation welcomes global collaboration across industries to jointly build a global simulation technology community for the AI era.
