Session Preview

As equipment systems become increasingly complex and intelligent, they are required to operate in demanding and constantly changing environments. Life prediction and fault diagnosis are central to equipment health management, directly affecting equipment safety and reliability. However, traditional physics-based modelling methods have difficulty capturing the strongly coupled and nonlinear dynamics of complex equipment, while data-driven diagnostic approaches are often limited by the scarcity of fault samples and the difficulty of reproducing degradation processes. Digital twin technology offers a new approach to these challenges by creating a high-fidelity virtual representation of physical equipment.

This presentation focuses on engines, electric servo mechanisms, and other equipment to explore multi-physics coupled digital twin modelling. Large-scale simulations of typical fault scenarios and degradation processes are conducted using digital twin models to expand scarce fault datasets and address small-sample challenges. Building on this approach, the presentation examines methods for equipment life prediction and fault diagnosis and develops an equipment health management framework that integrates models, data, and domain knowledge. The framework provides both a theoretical basis and practical technical tools for maintaining equipment health throughout its lifecycle and supporting condition-based maintenance and more precise decision-making.

The Global Simulation Conference 2026 brings together leading experts from around the world to explore cutting-edge topics, including Physical AI, intelligent simulation and data governance, embodied intelligence, and industrial foundation models. The conference will feature a main forum and 10 thematic forums covering key areas such as aerospace, smart healthcare, low-altitude transportation, green and intelligent marine equipment, and youth innovation and development.

Professor HU Changhua’s participation will bring valuable expertise in equipment health management to the conference. We look forward to exploring the latest applications and future directions of simulation technology with you.
