From September 19 to 27, the 2026 National Science Popularization Month Science Carnival and Chaoyang District Science and Technology Culture Carnival was held at the southwest plaza of the National Speed Skating Oval, the “Ice Ribbon”. The event was jointly hosted by the China Science and Technology Museum and the People’s Government of Chaoyang District, Beijing. As a representative of an international scientific and technological organization, the Asia Simulation Federation was invited to participate in the event and showcase its work. ASIASIM’s feature video, Simulation for Everything, was screened for the public. Professor YANG Xiaohui, Vice Secretary-General of ASIASIM, was invited to deliver a keynote speech titled Building the Foundation of the Virtual and Physical Worlds: The Current State and Future Outlook of China’s Homegrown Industrial Simulation Software.

On September 19, Mr. LOU Yixiang, Vice Head of Chaoyang District, Beijing, and Director of the Administrative Committee of Zhongguancun Chaoyang Park, along with Mr. LIU Wei, Secretary of the District Association for Science and Technology, and HUO Chao, Executive Vice Chairperson, visited the Asia Simulation Federation’s booth. Mr. LOU Yixiang and his delegation stopped to review ASIASIM’s brochures, learn more about the organization, and discuss the simulation models and technology application scenarios on display with staff. They expressed their recognition of ASIASIM’s efforts to promote international exchange and cooperation in simulation technology.

The Science Popularization Salon featured science and technology professionals from different fields as guest speakers. On the afternoon of September 22, professor YANG Xiaohui, Vice Secretary-General of ASIASIM, delivered a keynote speech titled Building the Foundation of the Virtual and Physical Worlds: The Current State and Future Outlook of China’s Homegrown Industrial Simulation Software. Starting with “What is industrial simulation?”, he covered the industry landscape, technological bottlenecks, and future trends, explaining in accessible language the development, key challenges, and strategies of China’s industrial simulation software, often described as a “gem in the crown of industry”. He expressed the hope that China’s homegrown industrial simulation software could progress from “following” to “running alongside” and ultimately “leading”, helping drive the development of “Made in China” through intelligent manufacturing. He concluded by introducing the background, vision and mission of ASIASIM, as well as its work in recent years.

On the afternoon of September 26, ASIASIM’s feature video Simulation for was screened in the Science and Technology Culture Exhibition Hall. Covering fields from automotive transportation, aerospace, equipment manufacturing, energy and chemicals, and healthcare to urban management and military exercises, the video introduced audiences to simulation and ASIASIM through storytelling.
Industrial simulation may appear to be nothing more than cold code and charts, but it embodies deep human understanding of physical laws and serves as a solid foundation for building a modern industrial system. When the public understands the strategic value of industrial software and young people become interested in exploring key national technologies, the industry gains sustained public attention and talent support.
The 2026 National Science Popularization Month has now come to a close. Starting from its exhibition and salon activities at the National Speed Skating Oval, ASIASIM hopes to help more people see that simulation technology is laying the foundation for and driving the digital and intelligent transformation of Chinese manufacturing, like a “stabilizing anchor”. Science popularization and public outreach are planting the seeds of hope for this endeavour.
