As the 2026 Global Simulation Conference (GloSim 2026) approaches, more speakers for its themed forums are being announced. Today, we introduce Professor LIN Xuchuan, Senior Research Fellow, PhD Supervisor, and Director of the Urban Integrated Disaster Prevention Research Center at the Institute of Engineering Mechanics, China Earthquake Administration. He will speak at the Industrial Simulation Software and Large Industrial AI Models Forum.

His presentation, “Development and Application of City-scale Digital Modeling and Disaster Simulation Software”, will share his team’s latest research and practical applications in large-scale urban digital modeling, numerical disaster simulation, and simulation software platform development.

Prof. Xuchuan Lin is Professor and Doctoral Supervisor at Institute of Engineering Mechanics, China Earthquake Administration, Director of the Research Center for Urban Comprehensive Disaster Prevention. He is recipient of the National Youth Talent Program and Special Government Allowance of the State Council. His research concentrates on digital simulation of urban seismic disasters and structural seismic engineering. He has published over 140 journal papers, listed among CNKI Top 1% Highly Cited Researchers, with nearly 30 authorized domestic & international patents and more than 10 software copyrights. He took part in projects awarded 1 National First Prize for Science and Technology Progress, together with 3 provincial/ministerial First Prizes and 3 Second Prizes.

Cities, as highly complex systems, face severe natural disaster risks. Efficient digital modeling and simulation are of great significance for research on urban disaster mechanisms and emergency response. This presentation will introduce the research team’s recent research progress and applications in large-scale digital modeling methods, numerical simulation models, high-performance computing algorithms, and software platform development for urban disasters.

The 2026 Global Simulation Conference (GloSim 2026) will bring together leading experts from around the world to explore the latest developments in physical AI, intelligent simulation and data governance, embodied intelligence, and large AI models for industry.
