October 27th

As part of the DeepDive series on AI Empowering Industries, the “Industrial Internet and AI Simulation” industry exchange session was successfully held at the International Science and Technology Organizations Headquarters Cluster in Chaoyang District, Beijing. The Asia Simulation Federation (ASIASIM) supported the event as a co-organizer. The event was hosted by the Beijing Association for Science and Technology Innovation Service Center, supported by the Zhongguancun Chaoyang Park Administrative Committee (Chaoyang District Bureau of Science, Technology and Information), the Chaoyang District Association for Science and Technology, and the International Science and Technology Organizations Headquarters Cluster. It was organized by Beijing Chaoyang International Science and Technology Innovation Service Co., Ltd., with ASIASIM and the Digital Intelligence Integration Committee of the World Young Scientists Federation serving as co-organizers. HUO Chao, Executive Vice Chair of the Chaoyang District Association for Science and Technology, and YANG Xiaohui, Vice Secretary-General of ASIASIM, attended the event.

As new quality productive forces drive global industrialization, AI simulation and digital twins have become key technological foundations for manufacturing transformation and upgrading. Leveraging the International Science and Technology Organizations Headquarters Cluster, the event supported Chaoyang District’s “AI+ Action” initiative and its goal of building a city for innovative AI applications. It also promoted the application of Chinese innovations in simulation technology and industrial AI in real-world industrial settings and strengthened exchanges and mutual learning with industry stakeholders worldwide.

The event featured two main segments: keynote presentations and a roundtable discussion. ASIASIM invited experts from universities and leading technology companies to share insights and engage in in-depth discussions on cutting-edge topics, including the development of simulation technology in China, battery modeling and simulation, composite material simulation, air-ground collaborative driving simulation, and industrial AI.

Keynote Presentations

YANG Xiaohui, Vice Secretary-General of ASIASIM, delivered a keynote presentation titled “From Chinese Practice to Global Collaboration: Advancing Simulation Technology for a Global Industrial Ecosystem”. He noted that industrial simulation software is a critical tool for manufacturing development and is entering a period of significant opportunity, with technological innovation and ecosystem development being central to the industry's growth. China's simulation sector should steadily expand into global engineering applications while learning from advanced international technologies to build an open, trusted, and mutually beneficial global simulation innovation network. He also introduced ASIASIM as one of the world's three major international scientific and technological organizations in the field of simulation. Since its establishment in December 2024, ASIASIM has attracted member organizations from nearly 20 countries and brought together more than 2,000 industry experts. Through international academic exchange, participation in global science and technology governance, and the mobilization of international resources, ASIASIM supports the development of China's simulation industry and promotes the wider application of simulation technology worldwide.

Professor SUN Bingxiang from Beijing Jiaotong University presented “Modeling and Simulation of Large-Capacity Batteries and State Assessment Using Physics-Based Models and AI”. She noted that as energy storage applications continue to expand, battery safety management faces growing challenges, increasing the importance of cloud-edge-device collaborative assessment. Her team has developed models for different applications, including multiphysics and external characteristic simulation models for battery packs, an integrated lifespan prediction model for automotive batteries, and a physics-based and AI-integrated early warning model for energy storage systems. These models support the safe and reliable operation of power batteries and energy storage systems.

Professor YE Hongling from Beijing University of Technology presented “Integrated Simulation Analysis and Intelligent Design of Composite Structures Based on Material-Structure-Performance Integration”. Advanced composites are essential materials for high-end equipment, but lightweight design remains a major challenge. Her team has developed a multiscale, multiphysics simulation and optimization method integrating materials, structures, and performance for additively manufactured composites. By combining machine learning and generative algorithms, the team supports intelligent design and engineering development of composite materials.

Associate Professor LIN Qingfeng from Beihang University delivered a presentation titled “Advancing Driving Simulation: AI-Driven Air-Ground Collaborative Applications”. With the rapid development of the low-altitude economy and mixed transportation systems, demand for integrated air-ground simulation is growing. His team has developed China's first multi-user driving simulation platform for education and research, as well as an integrated human-in-the-loop simulation system combining electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft with ground vehicles. These innovations advance intelligent simulation in terms of equipment, application scenarios, and methods, supporting research, testing, and talent development in the low-altitude economy and intelligent transportation.

CAO Hao, Director of the Testing and Certification Institute and Head of the Zhejiang Branch at the China Academy of Industrial Internet, presented “Building High-Quality Industrial Datasets”. He emphasized that high-quality industrial datasets are fundamental to deploying industrial large language models and AI agents, and that data silos must be addressed. Drawing on case studies in automotive manufacturing, non-ferrous metal smelting, and technology finance, he outlined approaches to developing industrial data resource systems.

Roundtable Discussion

The roundtable discussion was moderated by ZHANG Lin, Vice Director of Kunlun Capital under CNPC. YAO Chi of EasyVPS, YUAN Yong of Yutuo Zhiyuan, and CUI Hanqing of Mouxianfei discussed “Industrial AI: From Technical Tools to Real-World Engineering Value”. Industry investors and entrepreneurs in simulation explored the practical implementation of AI agents in industrial settings, the development of Chinese simulation products, and the global competitive landscape for simulation engines. They also exchanged views on the integration of physical and virtual data and the transformation of enterprise processes in the AI era, offering insights with both theoretical depth and practical relevance.

During the promotional session, YANG Xiaohui highlighted two major events. The Global Simulation Conference 2026 will be held in Hangzhou from November 13 to 16, 2026, bringing together nearly 1,000 experts and industry representatives from around the world to explore advances in simulation, ecosystem development, and international collaboration among industry, academia, and research institutions. The 2027 International Simulation Innovation Competition (ISIC), themed “AI-Driven Simulation Innovation for a Shared Digital Industry Future”, will feature six tracks: aerospace and high-end equipment, cutting-edge AI and interdisciplinary simulation, industrial simulation software and industrial foundation models, smart cities and the low-altitude economy, digital twins for intelligent manufacturing, and embodied AI robotics simulation. The competition will have university and enterprise divisions and encourage joint teams from industry, academia, and research institutions, helping connect research with industrial applications and providing a high-level platform for showcasing and exchanging innovations worldwide.
