A Glimpse of Life in a 4D Ultrasound

Was the First Line of Poetry Through Which She Understood “Simulation”

She Is Not the One Who Creates Technology

But the One Who Helps Technology Happen More Smoothly

Encountering Simulation

Had I never become a mother, I might not have come to understand simulation so deeply. As one of the first employees of the International Simulation Technology Innovation Center and a staff member of the Secretariat of the Asia Simulation Federation, I entered the field with no technical background at all.

What truly connected me with the field of simulation was not professional expertise, but the experience of carrying a new life. As the tiny curled-up figure of my baby gradually appeared on the screen—its clear outline and subtle movements—the child I had never yet met suddenly became real and visible. The vivid image in the 4D ultrasound made me realize that technology can make the unknown visible and allow the future to appear before us.

In essence, 4D ultrasound is a technology based on medical-image modeling and dynamic reconstruction. Through data acquisition and computational simulation, it presents a state of life that would otherwise remain unseen. This is, in fact, a typical form of simulation. From that moment onward, a seed about seeing and protecting quietly took root in my heart.

Understanding Simulation

When I first took up the position, the field of simulation was entirely unfamiliar to me. My daily work mainly involved essential administrative and logistical support: preparing venues and materials for expert seminars, coordinating federation exchange activities, and responding to the needs of different parties. Step by step, the work moved forward through countless detailed and demanding tasks.

Although I did not possess deep technical expertise, I gradually came to understand the essence of simulation through my day-to-day work. I once led the overall design of the Asia Simulation Federation's exhibition wall, which required me to study the Federation's development history, major technological achievements, public science materials, and brand messages. Through repeated planning and refinement, I moved closer to simulation, learned more about it, and gradually narrowed the distance between myself and the field.

What moved me most was seeing, with my own eyes, the experts' concentration and persistence: repeatedly verifying a set of simulation data, debugging a digital exercise frame by frame, refining a model or algorithm through the night, and repeatedly demonstrating and iterating a key technology before it could be implemented. They built digital-twin scenarios at their computers, simulated complex operating conditions in laboratories, and tackled technical bottlenecks in discussions. With rigor and patience, they transformed virtual simulation into practical, applicable capability. I witnessed their dedication to technology, their efforts to advance real-world applications, and their sense of responsibility in empowering industries through simulation. This pure pursuit closely echoed the commitment of medical professionals who use their expertise to protect life and welcome new beginnings.

I then came to understand that whether 4D ultrasound is used to safeguard a new life, or simulation technology is used to promote industrial upgrading and shape the future, both embody the gentle power that technology brings to life. At their core lies humanity's original aspiration to use expertise and wisdom to reduce uncertainty and protect what is good.

Becoming Part of Simulation

From protecting a single life to empowering an entire industry, the original purpose of technology remains the same. Every service I provide, every form of support I offer, and every quiet contribution I make in the field of simulation is my own way of carrying forward this commitment to protection and this enduring passion.

With the tenderness and determination that motherhood has given me, I have remained devoted to service work in the simulation field day after day. At the intersection of technology and life, I have come to understand the deeper meaning of value.

It is never only pioneering technological exploration that deserves to be seen. Quiet companionship behind the scenes, meticulous support, and every small effort that brings people together for the development of the industry are equally indispensable and shine in their own way.

I may not be “the person who creates technology,” but I am striving to become—

the person who helps technology happen more smoothly.
